Since the beginning of the year 1.5 million people have allegedly visited the occupied Crimea, according to the information provided by Aleksey Chernyak, the Chairman of the Committee of the Kremlin-controlled State Council of Crimea on the sanatorium and resort complex and tourism.

According to him, the annexed peninsula was visited by 26.5% more people than last year.

“According to the latest information that we've got, nearly 1.5 million tourists have already rested in the Crimea as of June 14. This is almost 26.5% more than last year. To date, we have 409 collective accommodation facilities. The average load is more than 53%.”

"Minister of resorts and tourism" of Crimea Vadim Volchenko named the exact, according to him, number of tourists. He said that as of June 14, Crimea was visited by 1.456 million people.

“One third of holidaymakers arrived by air, another third came to us over the Crimean bridge. Only for two weeks in May and two weeks in June, 222,300 motor vehicles arrived along the Crimean bridge.”

QHA reported that the flow of tourists from Poland to Ukraine is growing, but Polish tourists are not going to Crimea, occupied by Russia. Consul General of the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Odesa Andrzej Schmidke noted that now in Ukraine, the largest number of Polish tourists.
