Recently Google launched ‘public transit’ function on Google maps for 9 resort towns of Crimea, namely for Alushta, Sevastopol, Dzhankoy, Feodosia, Kerch, Simferopol, Sudak, Yalta and Evpatoria, informs Zerkalo Nedely newspaper.
With a help of a special function, one can choose convenient transportation means- bus, mini-bus or trolleybus, find the needed bus stop and calculate the amount of time spent on the road.
In order to plan the trip, one need to go to Google maps, click on directions, select transport icon and enter the direction of travel.
The service will find the fastest route from point A to point B and will suggest optimal transportation choices. Information is provided in three languages: Ukrainian, Russian and English. It is available to users of all browsers, including mobile.
Note: Google launched its ‘public transit’ function in 2005 as an experiment. In October 2007 it became part of Google maps. The function makes possible to find out transport schedules in more than 800 cities around the world. For Ukraine, ‘public transit’ function is available for 23 cities and towns.
