RIO DE JANEIRO (QHA) -

Ukrainian Paralympic team has set 109 records in three sports at Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, according to Facebook page of the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine.

Ukrainians have set 14 records in athletics, 1 record – in powerlifting, and 94 – in swimming (!).

Ukrainian Paralympians have set 22 world records: 19 – in swimming and 3 – in athletics; 32 Paralympic records: 26 – in swimming, 5 – in athletics and 1 – in powerlifting, as well as 54 European records: 49 – in swimming and 6 – in athletics.

It was reported earlier that for the first time of its participation in the Paralympics the Ukrainian team took the third place, winning 117 medals: 41 gold, 37 silver and 39 bronze, which is 33 medals more than in the previous 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
