Ukrainian footballer refused to play for Russian team

Promising Ukrainian footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko has decided to play not for the Russian national team, but for the Ukrainian one. Ukrainian national coach Mikhail Fomenko called up the UFA midfielder Alexander Zinchenko to play for Ukrainian team.

According to the Observer, during a press conference, the coach said Zinchenko would play for the Ukrainian national team.

Earlier on, it was reported that after the footballer for the Ukrainian youth team left Shakhtar for Ufa, he even planned to get Russian citizenship, but eventually has changed his mind.
