Ukraine’s Boxing Federation announced it won’t send its athletes to the Crimean competition since it is not in touch with the Crimean Boxing Federation, organized in Russia-annexed Crimea, reports Krym.Realii citing the Secretary General of the Ukraine’s Boxing Federation Ilya Gurovich, commenting on the information that Ukrainian boxers are supposedly expected to arrive in Yalta for upcoming boxing tournament.
- The attitude to this championship is negative. How can Crimea carry out any competition without Ukraine? I believe it to be wrong, said Gurovich.
On the eve, the press service of the Yalta City Council claimed that from Sept. 25 to 27 the city will host boxing tournament in memory of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Amet-Khan Sultan. City officials said the tournament will be attended by the Ukrainian boxers.
