Ukrainian athletes broke record of Paralympics 2012

Ukrainian team has already won 92 medals.

The Ukrainian team continues to hold third place during the eight days of the Paralympic Games. In addition, the athletes broke the record of the Paralympics 2012, when they brought 84 medals from London.

Yesterday, the Ukrainian athletes won 4 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Gold was won by Sergey Emelyanov (parakanoe), Eugene Bogodayko (swimming 100 meters) and Gennady Boiko (swimming 50 meters). Maxim Kripak swam a distance of 400 meters in 3.57.71 setting a world record.

Silver was gained by Dmitry Vinogradets (swimming 200 meters), Maria Pomazan (shot put), Natalia Lagutenko (parakanoe) and Denis Dubrov (swimming 400 meters).

Bronze medals were awarded to swimmers Anton Kol, Sergei Palamarchuk and Irina Sotskaya.

A football final match between the Ukrainian and Iranian teams will be held today at 23:00 (Kyiv time).

So as of now, Ukraine has 35 gold, 27 silver and 30 bronze medals - a total of 92 awards. The Americans are still close on the heels of Ukrainian athletes, but the gap increased to 3 medals.
