Liudmila Pavlenko has earned a second gold medal for Ukraine at the XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi (Russia), Ukrinform reports.
Pavlenko won a 12-km ski race Sunday for athletes with lesions of the musculoskeletal system.
After the second day of the 2014 Games the Ukrainian team takes the 2nd place in team standings, with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
As reported, Vitaliy Lukianchenko had earlier become Paralympics champion winning the biathlon 7.5 km sprint for visually impaired athletes. The medals were also taken by biathletes Maksym Yarovy, Yulia Batenkova, Oksana Shyshkova and repeated Paralympic champion, Hero of Ukraine Olena Yurkovska.
The Paralympians will compete for 72 sets of medals in five sports.
