(QHA) - Ukraine's national football team has climbed to 18th place in the monthly FIFA ranking published on the official Web site of the organization, reports Interfax-Ukraine. Mykhailo Fomenko's side has the highest rating among the teams that have not qualified for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Ukraine is also a spot ahead of France, the team that beat Ukraine in the World Cup play-offs. The leaders of the ranking remained unchanged. Reigning world and European champions Spain top the table. They are followed by Germany, Argentina and Colombia. Portugal climbed nine places, to fifth. It is followed by Uruguay, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Brazil. As reported,the 2014 FIFA World Cup will be the 20th FIFA World Cup, an international men's football tournament, that is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12 June to 13 July 2014. It will be the second time that Brazil has hosted the competition, the previous being in 1950. Brazil will become the fifth country to have hosted the World Cup twice, after Mexico, Italy, France, and Germany.
