Ukrainian Andrei Govorov, native of Sevastopol, became the strongest in the French Open Swimming Championships, he won the 50 meter butterfly event with a result of 23.3 seconds.

The result was not the best in the career of the Ukrainian sportsman as his record time at this distance is 22.36 seconds.

Reportedly, Moscow invited Ukrainian swimmer Andrei Govorov to join the Russian team after his victory at the World University Games in Kazan last August. The Russians offered a million of dollars to the Crimean, but the swimmer, who did not recognize the annexation of his native peninsula, refused, according to the President of the Football Federation of Ukraine, Govorov’s friend Andrei Pavelko.
