RIO DE JANEIRO (QHA) -

Ukrainian athlete Andrey Demchuk, who won a gold medal in saber fencing, dedicated his victory to the soldiers fighting in the Eastern Ukraine.

I have two friends who were killed in the ATO zone. I dedicate this medal to them. It's really the people who sacrificed themselves for the sake of our country for it to be free and independent. I dedicate this medal to all ATO soldiers as these are the people who give everything to protect our land. I am grateful to them 100%, the champion told on air of the UA: First TV Channel.

The fifth day of the Paralympic Games has brought our team 12 medals. In general, the Ukrainian team has won 61 medals.
