Yesterday, Ukrainian athletes won four gold, two silver and three bronze medals. The Paralympians have also set one world record, one European record and two Paralympic records.

The gold was won by a cyclist Yegor Dementyev (Individual time trial), a swimmer Sergei Klippert (100 m backstroke) and Anna Stetsenko (50 meters freestyle). The latter broke a 20-year record having covered the distance in 27.34 sec.

Ukrainians won another gold medal in 4x100m freestyle relay. Alexander Komarov, Maxim Kripak, Bogdan Grinenko and Denis Dubrov covered the distance in 3 min 48.11 seconds and set a Paralympic record. The athletes lacked one hundredth of a second to break the world record.

At the end of the seventh day the Ukrainian national team is still ranked third having won 81 medals. However, the Americans already breathe down our team’s neck as so far they have 80 awards.
