MOSCOW (QHA) - WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Volodymyr Klychko will defend his title against WBA regular champion Aleksandr Povetkin at Olympic Stadium in Moscow on October 5.
Contracts for the fight were signed and agreed with the World Boxing Association (WBA), Moscow Mortgage Center Group of Companies and Rosneft, the organizers of the event, said in a press release, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
The talks between Klitschko and Povetkin lasted for two months. The purse bid to stage the fight is $23 million.
Povetkin currently holds the World Boxing Association's "regular" Heavyweight Championship title.
Manager of Povetkin A. Khryunov stated they have already received claims to more than 50 thousands tickets to this fight. This despite the fact that the Moscow Olympic Stadium seats 35 thousand spectators at most.
