Kyiv (QHA) - The Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) is planning to lodge an appeal on Monday against the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA) on the disqualification of the Arena Lviv stadium for the behavior of fans during the 2014 World Cup qualifier between Ukraine and San Marino.
FFU First Vice President Anatoliy Popov said this at a briefing at the Football House in Kyiv on Monday, reports Ukrinform.
"We will make every effort to minimize FIFA sanctions. We're planning to send an appeal to FIFA headquarters today," Popov said.
As reported, according to the FIFA verdict, apart from the disqualification of the Lviv stadium until 2018 inclusive, Ukraine should play against Poland in Kharkiv on October 11 without spectators. The Football Federation of Ukraine was fined CHF 45,000.
