A Crimean takes silver at World Junior Boxing Championship

A Crimean Ruslan Zubarchuk has become a silver medalist of World Boxing Championship for juniors and became a master of sport.

Being a four-time champion of Ukraine and bronze medalist of the European Championship, Ruslan now got a silver medal at World Boxing Championship for juniors. In the weight category up to 52 kg, Ruslan fought against an American Shakur Stevenson.

Ruslan said it was not easy to win. He also said he was happy to participate in such high level competition. Ruslan plans to conquer new heights.

His nearest plans include preparation for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

Ruslan Zubarchuk’s mother Diana Asanova accompanies him at all contests.

“There is nothing like parental support”, - she said.

In total, Ukraine got 5 medals, among them 2 golden medals, one silver medal and 2 bronze ones. One of the bronze medals was taken by another Crimean- Igor Viktorov.
