Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine, and Arsen Avakov, Ukrainian Interior Minister, congratulated the first Ukrainians who have received the new ID passports.

The new passports represent ID-cards with embedded chips. It is a single document that can incorporate dozens of different codes enabling the identification of the owner and obtaining state services via the Internet and electronic signature without standing in queues and carrying a stack of documents.
“This is our large scale program to make Ukraine a part of the European Union,” Arseniy Yatsenyuk wrote on his Facebook page.
