In order to preserve the historical past of the region, the head of Yalta City Administration suggested to transfer the abandoned sculptures, monuments and busts, set up in different places of the southern coast of Crimea, to recently reconstructed Komsomolsky Park in Yalta, Novisti Kryma news agency reports.
“Monuments and sculptures represent our history and remind of past events. Unfortunately, many of them are now in poor state. I believe that it is our duty to preserve and make them accessible to people,” said Rostenko.
He also noted that this initiative will affect only the abandoned Soviet art works.
