Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Refat Chubarov expressed concern for further fate of Crimean Tatars due to recent developments in Crimea. He said this at the press briefing in Simferopol today.
“Of course we have fear for the fate of Crimean Tatar people. In our society there are still tens of thousands of people who survived total deportation of 1944”, he said.
“On May 18 this year there will be the 70th anniversary of the disaster that befell upon us. And what happened in the 20th century, when the international community could not help us and other people, should not repeat in the 21st century,” said head of Mejlis.
Refat Chubarov also noted that today there is great danger of provocations in Crimea.
