QHA - This year Muslims of a small town Burke, Virginia, USA, perform Tarawih prayers at church. During the holy month of Ramadan, local church has kindly provided its chapel to Muslims, reports Islam-today. This was a great gesture of tolerance and respect for another religion. Church benches were taken out of chapel to make room for a collective prayer. For the whole month, the sound of a church bell was changed to Azan (Muslim call for a prayer) and Islamic prayers were heard instead of Christian songs. The Islamic community of the US expressed gratitude for this initiative. Church officials themselves consider such act a message of peace and respect to all religions of the world. Note: Tarawih prayers- prayers performed by Muslims at night in the Islamic month of Ramadan.
