UN to give one-time payments to refugees from Crimea

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has developed a procedure of one-time assistance payment to Ukrainian citizens, who left Crimea for Lviv region following the peninsula’s annexation by Russia.

This was announced by head of Lviv Regional Administration Irina Sekh.

“Benefit amount will range from 3 to 7.5 thousand UAH, depending on the number of children in the families. One-time benefit for students will be 2 thousand UAH. The Department of Social Protection of Lviv Regional State Administration opens an account to receive the assets. I hope that by the end of this month money will reach the destination” - Sekh noted.

As reported, the first tranche will be paid to families with children or disabled persons, single mothers, and student, not receiving the scholarship.

Thousands of Crimea residents left the region over its annexation by Russia in March.
