The United Nations recorded a large number of "undesirable trends" in the sphere of human rights observance in the annexed Crimea, the Chairman of the UN Monitoring Mission for Human Rights in Ukraine Fiona Fraser stated during the presentation of the report on the situation with human rights in Ukraine.

"We have recorded a large number of undesirable tendencies, especially the neglect of guarantees of a fair trial concerning decisions against members of the Crimean Tatar community, as well as the application of criminal law in hindsight, mistreatment of the detained people," Fraser noted.

Furthermore, according to the speaker, the monitoring mission recorded a lot of cases of transferring prisoners from Crimea to remand centers in Russia, which is a violation of international humanitarian law.

Earlier, the experts of the Crimean Human Rights Group presented an analytical report based on monitoring of cases of violation of freedom of assembly in the Crimea over three years of occupation.
