Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov is charged with making public appeals and committing actions aimed at violating Russia’s territorial integrity.

Umerov reported on the fact after being questioned by the FSB investigators. The corresponding video was posted to Facebook by the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Nariman Dzhelyal.

A lawyer Emil Kurbedinov said the investigators served Umerov a legal resolution reciting his statements the occupants consider to be "criminal offenses."

- Referring to the Section 51 of the Constitution Ilmi Aga has refused to give any testimony so far. In principle, that’s all for now, said the lawyer.

FSB has accused Umerov of separatist statements during his speech at the ATR TV Channel when the Mejlis Deputy Chairman said that "it is necessary to force Russia to pull back from Crimea and Donbas." The resolution also mentions the words about changes to the Ukraine’s Constitution when Umerov said the Crimean Tatar people should be granted a separate status, while Crimea should be transferred to the status of national autonomy within Ukraine.
