An appeal to Petro Poroshenko has been registered on the online petition website of the Ukraine’s President asking to assist in nominating Nadezhda Savchenko, the Hero of Ukraine and Ukrainian pilot, for the Nobel Peace Prize.
- Given the undeniable merits of Ukraine’s Hero Nadiya Savchenko, her contribution to the struggle for peace at the local and global level, her unprecedented move, which became an example of courage not only for Ukrainians, but also for other nations, and given the need in the formation of a positive image of our country abroad, we urge you, Petro Poroshenko, to assist in nominating Nadiya Savchenko for the Nobel Peace Prize, reads the petition.
According to the author of the petition Sergei Parkhomenko, last year the President did not support the initiative.
- I hope that now the President will hear us, said Sergei Parkhomenko.
