A team of a film director, camera man and music writer have joined the initiative of the Ukrainian Embassy to Turkey and Ukrainian Consulate General in Istanbul by releasing a video congratulating Ukrainians on the Independence Day to be celebrated on August 24, 2015.
Marina Er-Gorbach, a Ukrainian film director, and Bahadyr Er, a Turkish producer, were happy to shoot a video featuring Ukrainian children living in Turkey as part of the Embassy and Consulate’s initiative.
According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Ankara, everyone coming to the Sultanakhmet Square in Istanbul got to take part in the shooting of a video congratulating Ukrainians on their Independence Day. The organizers did not seek to gain monetary gain, so the project was purely socially-oriented.
Families of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians living in Turkey, as well as Turkish families maintaining close ties with Ukraine, were among those present during the shooting.
“Ukrainians living in Turkey are celebrating Ukraine’s 24th Independence Day! Now that Ukraine is facing hard times, Ukrainians from all over the world are wishing their country happiness and peace. We are extending our deepest gratitude to all of the Ukrainians and brotherly Turks who have come to the Sultanakhmet Square to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day. We are also immensely thankful to the volunteer filmmakers for the time and effort they have put in shooting the video. Happy birthday Ukraine! Long live Ukraine!” says a statement published by the Ukrainian Embassy to Turkey.
According to the statement, a lot of Ukrainians living in Turkey have put their heart and soul into making the video, with music for it being written by Yuriy Ryadchenko, a Ukrainian music writer.
The short video is scheduled to be shown on all Ukrainian TV channels prior to Independence Day celebrations. It will also be published in the social media, as well as the websites of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Ukrainian Embassy in Ankara and Ukrainian Consulate General in Istanbul.
