April, 14 Vasily Vasilyevich Belotserkovskiyi posted a petition to the official website of the President of Ukraine asking Petro Poroshenko to ban the Russian ruble.

- Due to the armed, informational, political and economic aggression of Russia against Ukraine I ask to consider a proposal to ban the Russian ruble on all the Ukrainian stock exchanges and, consequently, to prohibit specifying its course among the major currencies. Instead of the ruble I propose to show the exchange rate of the British pound sterling as a major and most reliable currency. I also suggest establishing a system of administrative penalties for violation of this ban, reads the petition.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine was proposed to ban Russian video and audio products from airing in Ukraine. So far, 15861 Ukrainian citizens have signed the petition and 25 thousand are still required.
