As of February 8, Ukrainians have applied for 20,000 e-passports in the form of cards, according to the website of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

About 8,000 plastic passports have already been made.

It was reported earlier that on January 11, the Migration Service of Ukraine introduced new passports for Ukrainian citizens in the form of cards with embedded contactless chips.

For the time being, the new documents are issued only for persons who have attained the age of 16 and receive passports for the first time. They will be available for other categories of citizens only after the adoption of the bill No. 3224 by the Verkhovna Rada, which has already approved it in the first reading.
