According to the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), 44% of Ukrainians voted for the closure of the border with Russia, the introduction of visa regime and customs, Еkonomicheskie Izwestia report.

According to statistics 2014 – before the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych, occupation of Crimea and beginning of the war in Donbas - only 15% of citizens voted for closure of the border with Russia and 68% were against the customs, closed borders and visas.

Thus, these days, nearly half of Ukrainians are ready to endure difficulties inevitably caused by the closure of borders and introduction of visas.

As for the Russian Federation, the situation is reversed. According to the Levada-Center, in 2014 only 16% of Russian citizens were for friendly relations between Ukraine and Russia. However, now 36% of Russian citizens would like to improve relations with Ukraine and 43% do not consider Russians and Ukrainians one nation.
