Yesterday, February,28 the representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora reminded Europeans of Russia’s occupation of Crimea and its aggression in Donbas. Holding blue and yellow flags, the Ukrainian emigrants hit the streets of major cities in Portugal, France, Italy and Spain.
The rallies were peaceful. Activists sang the Ukrainian National Anthem and chanted, "Crimea - it is Ukraine", "Ukraine - this is Europe." The representatives of the Diaspora urged the Russian authorities to release illegally detained Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, reported 112.
On the eve, the Ukrainian Embassy in Portugal organized an information campaign agitating people to visit demonstration-march on February, 28.
February, 27 on the Day of Crimea’s Resistance against Russia’s Occupation, rallies were held in Istanbul and Ankara.
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the work of Ukrainian diplomats will create all the conditions that Russia willingly sits down at the negotiating table concerning the Crimean issue.
