Reportedly, the state of Grib's health over two months of detention in the remand prison has deteriorated. Pavel Grib needs surgery, the Doctor of medical sciences, Professor of the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bogomolets National Medical University Vasily Pritula informed. According to him, Pavel has portal hypertension, because of which, bleeding from the veins of the stomach, esophagus or nose is possible at any time. Before he was abducted, the doctors had ordered him a surgery that could stop the progression of the disease.

“Until then, Pavel was under medical supervision all the time, he was receiving supportive therapy, treatment aimed at maintaining liver function to prevent bleeding, and other complications associated with the disease. Of course, in such conditions, when a person has been staying in an isolator for two month in the absence of proper nutrition and the necessary medicines, he will never get better," Pritula said.

Earlier the EU stated that they expect the immediate release of Ukrainian Grib as well as other Ukrainian citizens who are held in Russia.
