Officers of the State Border Service, who serve at the administrative border with the occupied Crimea, regularly receive threats to life and health from intruders, the official website of the department reported.
“January 10, the unknown crashed a window with a brick in a house of one of the Heads of the Border Service of Berdyansk unit. Another guard of the same squad recently found the door of his apartment was fired with a hunting rifle. Fortunately, nobody was affected by these actions, the State Border Service officers at the time were in the service,” the department reported.
Reportedly, the representatives of the National Police carried out investigations in both cases to establish the circumstances and those involved in illegal activities. Border Service Department carries out appropriate checks as well.
This is not the first time, the unknown trying to affect the border guards by intimidation or causing willful damage. Over the last year, 33 cases of threats and attempts to intimidation of border guards have been recorded. Moreover, in 6 cases, the attackers burned the cars belonging to the Border Service personnel.
In late December, the border guards at the administrative border with the occupied Crimea stepped up security measures in the field of service.
