Ukraine to mark anniversary of rally February 26 in Crimea

A corresponding decision was supported by 244 MPs.

Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has passed a draft decree №3807 "On commemoration of memorable dates and anniversaries in 2016". The corresponding decision was supported by 244 deputies, reported 112.Ukraina TV Channel.

The decree was adopted subject to a number of amendments during the consideration. Thus, MP Mykola Knyazhytskiy suggested adding to a list of anniversaries to be celebrated in Ukraine this year, the 2nd anniversary of Crimean Tatars’ rally in support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, which was held in the city of Simferopol February 26, 2014.

According to the Annex to the Resolution, in 2016 Ukraine will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Ukraine's independence and the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution, as well as commemorate the 90th anniversary of the murder of Simon Petlyura, 75 years since the mass executions of political prisoners in Western Ukraine, and 75 years after the first shootings at Babi Yar.
