Ukraine will strengthen internal security measures because of the blasts in Brussels, said Vasyl Hrytsak, Head of the Ukraine’s Security Service, as cited by Interfax-Ukraine.
- Due to the terrorist attacks in Brussels, the security measures throughout Ukraine will be increased. I have already reported on the subject to the President, and he gave instructions to strengthen security measures, said Hrytsak.
Today, March, 22 at around 8 a.m. local time two blasts ripped through the airport "Zaventem’' in Brussels.
The explosions also hit two subway stations, a walk from the EU institutions and not far from the immigrant district.
The Belgian Government has officially recognized the attacks, which claimed the lives of 23 people, acts of terrorism.
The attacks might have been retaliation for a March 18 arrest of Salakh Abdesalam, a man suspected of masterminding terror attacks in Paris.
