Ukraine lost about 800 children's camps in Crimea

Over 148 thousand Ukrainian children rehabilitated and rested at Crimean children's institutions annually prior to the annexation of the peninsular.

As a result of the annexation of Crimea, Ukraine has lost more than 800 children’s health care and rest institutions, reads a statement published on the Social Policy Ministry’s  website.

As noted, this number includes 122 rehabilitation institutions, as well as the International Children's Center "Artek," which healed more than 30 thousand children each year. There were also 680 recreation facilities on the peninsula.

According to the Ministry, more than 148 thousand Ukrainian children rehabilitated and rested at the Crimean children's institutions annually. In addition, the Ministry of Social Policy stated that "the International Children's Center "Artek" under the State Administration of the Ukrainian President is to begin its work at Pushcha-Ozernaya sanatorium in Kyiv this year. Wellness campaign at "Artek" will be launched on June 22, 2016."

Just a reminder: On April 13, the Obolonsky Court of Kyiv has seized the property of the "Artek" children's camp located in the Russian-occupied Crimea.
