Two Russians seized in Turkey on suspicion of spying

The Intelligence Agencies suspect the men are also involved in the murder of a citizen of the Chechen Republic.

In the course of a raid in Istanbul, the Turkish police detained two Russian citizens on suspicion of espionage, according to Milliyet.

Yuri Anisimov and Alexander Smirnov are suspected of espionage and involvement in the murder of Abdulvahid Edilgeriev, a native of Chechnya. The police seized forged documents the detainees used to arrive in the country.

Consul General confirmed the detention of foreigners and said that the Russians deny the charges and refuse to answer the questions.
