Among those blocked are @DarthPutinKGB and @SovietSergei – two accounts that had a lot of subscribers, reports Ukrinform. An attempt to view the accounts brings up a message saying they have been blocked by a Twitter administrator.

According to the Politico newspaper, the Twitter practice of blocking accounts impersonating politicians is in line with the social media policy of removing accounts publishing information qualifying as ‘parody’, ‘humor’, ‘comment’ and ‘false information."

The tweets published by @ DarthPutinKGB included: ‘Savchenko sentenced to one presidential term", ‘146% Russians did not elect me’, ‘It's not you visiting Russia, but me visiting you’, ‘Leonardo DiCaprio is not good enough to play me’.
