Turkey to start building Juma Jami mosque this year

SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - The Crimean Muslims have been expressing concern that the promised construction of Cathedral Mosque Juma Jami in Simferopol has not begun yet. The Committee of Muslims of Crimea assured that the State has taken all necessary measures for the construction to begin. “All necessary documentation is ready. Now, we are waiting for actions from Turkey,” said Mufti of Crimea Emirali Ablayev. According to Mufti, Turkey has not defined concrete timelines for construction, nevertheless, promised to start this year. Ablayev said that the authorities of Ukraine and Turkey control the situation. As reported earlier, Republic of Turkey took financial obligations for building Juma Jami mosque in Simferopol. According to the decree of the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, all needed funds have been allocated. Conceptual design of Juma Jami mosque complex was approved in November 2011.
