Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea—the Muftiyat—has received 6,000 copies of Holy Quran from Turkey, press service of the Muftiyat reports. The Qurans will be given to Crimean Madrassas (Muslim religious school) as well as mosques, where lessons of Quran are being conducted.

The books were given by charitable organizations of Turkey, as well as Crimean Tatars living in Turkey. The action was initiated by Crimean Tatar Association for Culture and Mutual Assistance (Seidshehir Dernek).

The books were delivered to Crimea in February, but handed over Muftiyat only now, as there were some issues of re-registration of Muftiyat which were to be settled.

Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea—Muftiyat—has registered as Russian organization, and got relevant documents Feb 27, 2014. Now the Muftiyat is working on registration of its religious communities, press service of the Muftiyat reports.

The Muftiyat now is officially titled Centralized Religious Organization of Religious Administration of Muslims of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

Out of two thousand religious communities in Crimea only eleven were reregistered under Russian law, the Crimean field mission reported.
