In keeping with their promise, truckers protesting against introduction of the PLATON system blocked traffic on Moscow’ s MKAD highway, reports MR7.ru.
A column made up of dozens of trucks has blocked traffic on the highway, causing a 10-kilometer long traffic jam to occur. Motorists stranded in the traffic jam have been standing in it for more than an hour.
“A truckers’ strike has begun. Traffic has been blocked at the intersection of the MKAD and Leningadsky highways,” write eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses reported 10 military trucks heading for the MKAD highway. The strike was not authorized by the authorities.
“According to one of the drivers, 10 military trucks, escorted by police vehicles, passed him on the MKAD highway and headed towards the Khimki area,” wrote a user of the VK social media.
