Trade restrictions with Crimea to be introduced in 30 days

The government has introduced a weight restriction of 50 kg for food products brought into Crimea.

According to a decree published by the Uryadovy Kurier, trade restrictions with Crimea are to be introduced in 30 days.

The restrictions, applicable to goods delivery and services provision, excluding individuals’ personal belongings and socially important food products, will be in place for the duration of Crimea annexation. Individuals will be allowed to carry no more than 50 kg of socially important food products per person (or UAH 10 thousand worth of products) per day.

Approved by the Government on December 16, the restrictions do not apply to energy supplies and relief aid.

Socially important food products include: flour, bread, pasta, buckwheat, rice, beef, pork, bacon, poultry, sausages, milk, sour cream, cheese, butter, chicken eggs, sugar, sunflower oil, potatoes and salt.
