Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia) revealed and destroyed 56 kg of peaches during the raid in the temporarily occupied Simferopol, the agency’s press-service reports.
“Some 56 kg of Spanish peaches were confiscated and destroyed at the Privoz market in Simferopol. The banned for import and sale fruit were destroyed by burying in Simferopol waste landfill,” reads the statement.
During the inspection it was found that the peaches under sanctions were imported from the Republic of Belarus.
It was reported earlier that a total of 5,481 tons of sanctions products have been destroyed in Russia since the introduction of counter-sanctions on August 6, 2015. The destruction of contraband products delivered from the countries that joined the anti-Russian sanctions is carried out by the Russian Federal Customs Service, Rosselkhoznadzor and Rospotrebnadzor in accordance with the Russian President’s Decree.
