KYIV (QHA) -

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars, which is currently held in Kyiv, there is still a place allocated for Bakhchisarai regional Mejlis and the Coordinating Council WCCT member Ervin Ibraimov abducted in the occupied Crimea, according to a  QHA correspondent.

Aa plaque with his name indicates the place of Ibraimov at the table.

The name of Ervin Ibraimov has become a symbol of a global campaign against killings, abductions and repression against the indigenous people of the occupied Crimea - the Crimean Tatars. At today's meeting the decision was made during the campaign, "Where is Erwin?" (its name has not been officially approved by the Executive Committee) to collect more than one million signatures, and then send the appropriate request to the leading international institutions like the UN, European Parliament and others.

Ervin Ibraimov was kidnapped on May 24, 2016 in Bakhchisarai. Since then the whereabouts of a member of the WCCT Executive Committee is not known.

Ervin’s father Umer Ibraimov had the opportunity to attend the previous sixth session of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Executive Committee., and he called on the members of the Executive Committee to promote wide publicity of the case and not to stop in the searching for his son.

Previously, the mother of the kidnapped Ervin Ibrahimov, Lilya Aliyeva, has written an appeal to President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, in which she asked him to make further efforts to find and release her son, as well as other abductees Crimean Tatars.

Today,  January 28,  the seventh meeting of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Executive Committee is held in Kyiv.
