Some Sevastopol residents refuse to work in the commissions on elections to the RF State Duma, in order not to lose the Ukrainian citizenship, says the "Chairman" of the City Election Commission Valery Medvedev, as cited by Kryminform.
According to him, the formation of election commissions in Sevastopol is almost complete. But the reluctance of some members to renounce Ukrainian citizenship caused certain difficulties.
“Not all the members renounced the Ukrainian citizenship. A member of the committee holding the casting vote can not have dual citizenship under the law,” Medvedev says.
The Russian lawyer Mark Feigin believes that substantial number of the Crimean Tatars will not participate in the forthcoming elections to the State Duma.
And the Head of the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights mission Jan Petersen, said that the OSCE will not send observers to the occupied Crimea.
