On July 20, the photos of the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Simferopol with painted slogan "Glory to Ukraine!" and a trident in the colors of Ukrainian flag on its pedestal were posted on social media. Several hours later, the "authorities" destroyed the inscription.

Next morning, unknown persons painted again the national symbols on the monument to a prominent Ukrainian poet and writer.

Thereafter, the so-called head of the Simferopol City Administration Gennady Baharev ordered to install a CCTV camera near the monument.
