Russian policemen attempted to scare the activists who gathered near the court building, where a preliminary session on the case against the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov was held.

Security officials prevented journalists and activists from recording comments with long car horns, Aishe Umerova reported in Facebook.

“They are even hindering recording video comments with such a long signal police car horns. Apparently, this is also one of the intimidation methods and psychological pressure on those gathered near the courthouse”, she wrote.

Earlier QHA reported that the court hearing on the Ilmi Umerov’s case was adjourned due to the failure on prosecutor to appear in court. On May 31, 12.37 p.m. the meeting was expected to begin. Ilmi Umerov’s daughter reported that 3 Russian Special Police Force minibuses, 2 police cars, 1 Fire Service Department car, Police Dog Service, Anti-Extremists center staff gathered in front of the court building.
