BRUSSELS (QHA) - The international organizations R20 - Regions of Climate Action that helps regional authorities in introducing energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly technologies, will open its representative office in Donetsk.
Head of Donetsk Oblast State Administration Andrii Shyshatskyi and Founding Chair of the R20 Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a relevant communique in Brussels on Monday, Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
"A representative office will be established in Donetsk oblast that will coordinate work in Ukraine and neighboring countries as well as in the Central and Eastern Asia. We want to build the bridge that our states are unfortunately not always able to make", - R20 Executive Director, Dr. Christophe Nuttall said.
According to Dr. Nuttall, the office will identify actual projects related to energy efficiency and the use of alternative energy sources, will train experts and raise public awareness in the field of energy conservation, create a regional network of alternative energy trading markets.
"Membership in the R20 association that meets modern challenges, will give a new impetus to the development of energy-saving technologies in the Donetsk basin. We want to create a kind of hub in Donetsk, a representative office that will bring together all the new environmental technologies and energy efficiency projects," Shyshatsky said.
