The statement of Natalia Poklonskaya, the so-called Crimean Prosecutor, on banning the activities of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars was supported by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of Moscow and the Central Region of Russia.
“This is a timely and correct decision. The Mejlis has no relevance to the inhabitants of Crimea - Crimean Tatars. This is an artificial form of play with the feelings of believers,” said Albir Krganov, Chairman of the SAM of Moscow and Central Region during the Moscow-Simferopol videoconference hosted by the press center of the Russia Today.
Albir Krganov called the Mejlis “a separatist organization that threatens the society with terror attacks and diversions.”
“Separatist activities, perhaps, the attempt of armed terrorist attacks and diversions - all this relates more to the Criminal Code and national security issues than to civil discussion and public dialogue. And now the Crimean Tatars perceive differently the information warfare the Mejlis is conducting by the West’s behest attempting to split the society. The vast majority of Crimean Tatars have realized that a big game is on and that the Mejlis leaders are earning their dividends,” the Mufti reports.
QHA reported earlier that the so called “representatives of the Crimean Tatar organizations” allegedly appealed to the “Prosecutor” of Crimea Natalia Poklonskaya demanding to take possible measures to prevent the further work of Mejlis and bring to justice all those responsible for its activity. Such a statement has been communicate to the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Nariman Jelal by Natalia Poklonskaya on Monday, February15.
