A series of five training sessions on safety (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) for Ukrainian journalists was arranged by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine jointly with the OSCE Project Coordinator and the Institute of Mass information as part of the project Supporting Conflict-Sensitive Journalism in Ukraine.

The key objective of the project is strengthening and improving journalism skills in conflict coverage in line with the best international standards. Building a dialogue between press officers and the military is also included in the project as a separate component. 

The training sessions is held at the International Center for Peacemaking and Safety of the National Academy of Land Forces (Yavoriv city, Lviv region) from November 11 to December 5, 2015. The journalists are provided with food and accommodation and participation is also free. Upon completion of the training, all participants will receive international certificates and the first aid kits used for work in ‘hot sports’.
