The corresponding statement was made by the Russian president's adviser on the development of the Internet, German Klimenko.
“Our country must be prepared to be disconnected from the global Internet,” Klimenko said.
Putin's advisor said that there is a high probability of the development of tense atmosphere with the West. Regulation of the Russian Internet segment will enable protection against such scenarios.
“It is important that email, phone, social networks continue to operate in Russia. Critical infrastructure, including a copy of the domain zone should be located on the territory of Russia, so that no one could disconnect it,” Klimenko said.
