Nakhimovski district court of Sevastopol sentenced two officials of state institution to imprisonment and a fine of 3 million rubles for accepting a bribe of $ 155 thousand rubles.
“Deputy Head of Sevastopol Federal Government Establishment "Yugregionzhilye" of the Russian Defense Ministry Kononov through his subordinate, a leading records manager Chernysh received a bribe for the allocation of housing to a serviceman. The bribe of 155 thousand rubles was split. At the same time according to the law, the briber had the right to housing. He gave the money to accelerate the procedure,” the report says.
The transfer of money was carried out under the supervision of law enforcement officers, and it was revealed that the official, capable to provide his service to the briber was Kononov. He was found guilty of taking bribes on a large scale (p. "C" Part 5, Art. 290 of the RF Criminal Code) and sentenced to 7 years and 6 months' imprisonment in a strict regime colony, with disqualification to hold certain positions of the state and municipal service for 5 years.
The second official, Chernysh, was convicted of mediation in large scale bribery (p. "B" Part 3 of Art. 291.1 of the RF Criminal Code). The court sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months' imprisonment in a penal colony, with disqualification to hold certain positions for 4 years.
Also Chernysh and Kononov were ordered to pay a fine of 10 times the amount of the bribe, i.e., of 1.55 million rubles each.
Earlier, representatives of the occupation law enforcement detained the Deputy Head of the Kerch city administration Oleg Shevchenko in the investigation into the criminal case of extortion. The so-called Prime Minister of Crimea Sergey Aksenov commented on the detention, adding that the official was arrested red-handed while receiving a bribe of 380 thousand rubles.
