According to the European Statistical Office, as of 2008 to 2013, the number of street children, who wanted to leave for the EU, amounted to 11-13 thousand. By 2014, this figure had doubled and as of 2015 – it has increased by 4 times.
91% of children - boys, 57% - minors aged from 16 to 17 years, 51% - refugee children from Afghanistan, followed by natives of Syria.
Most of the registered children are seeking asylum in Sweden, Germany, Hungary and Austria.
