The archives of Refat Kurtiev, a famous Crimean Tatar historian and local history expert, member of the Great Patriotic War and member of the Crimean Tatars national movement, were handed over to the State Institution of Culture of the Republic of Crimea ‘I.Gasprinskiy Crimean Tatar Republican Library’ on November 16, 2015.
The master file of the documentary heritage embraces manuscripts on history and ethnography of Crimean Tatars: over 300 files with archival and manuscript materials.
The archives were handed over by Leila Bilyalova, the widow of the historian and local history expert, under his will, press service of the I.Gasprinskiy Crimean Tatar Republican Library reports.
It worth noting that the solemn transfer of the documentary heritage (1,575 books) of Refat Kurtiev to the I.Gasprinskiy Crimean Tatar Republican Library, under his will, took place on May 15, 2012. His valuable books on local history of Crimea are in high demand among readers.
